QUESTIONS? COMMENTS?
Come on over to “Survival for Blondes” on Facebook and leave a post on our page.
Before we get to WHO let’s talk about WHEN. Please don’t wait for a disaster to make the call. It’s like Networking 101. Typically people only begin to make contacts after a crisis … they get laid off then frantically seek out people who can help them find another job. Then, as soon as they get a new job, they stop networking. Making Survivalist contacts is no different.
Networking works. But it must be an ongoing, intrinsic part of your day-to-day life. Same with a survival network. Simple, but not easy. You can’t just read the occasional article on the subject. Or draft an escape route. Or stock up on food & water. Just like the job-seeker needs to do more than send out resumes, the survivalist needs to know the right people in the right places. And to truly excel at Survival, one must know an INSIDER.
Now the WHERE …. as in where we begin … and we will begin with A GOAL. To find a Survival Expert in our area. To devise a Survival Strategy. To formulate a Survival Plan. All lofty goals, but easily attainable with the right approach.
Use your SOCIAL NETWORK
Volunteer. An organization will help you make contacts. Join a team. Serve on a committee. Start your own club. You will connect with people who will connect you with people with whom they connect.
K.I.S.S. (Keep It Simple, Survivalist). You can only absorb so much. You can only devote so much time to one aspect of your life. Two or three good connections and you will have more than enough resources to do what you need to get done.
Stay in touch. Follow your new friends on Facebook, Twitter, and Pinterest. Subscribe to their blogs. Leave comments. Engage with them when them follow you back. If they leave a comment, LIKE it. Reply to their comment and tag them in the comment. (If you want to tag your friend without mentioning their last name, simply tag them, then simply delete their last name.)
