David Allen, the most organized man in the world, in his book “Ready for Anything,” poses the question … WHAT’S HOLDING YOU BACK? For many of us, when it comes to disaster preparation, it’s FEAR, plain & simple. We don’t even want to THINK about something bad that might (or, hopefully, might not) happen.
Most of our friends don’t even have a will. Even if they have children and pets and elderly parents, they haven’t taken the time to think about Worst Case Scenario situations. Yes, Universal Law teaches us that what we think about expands in the Universe. Many New Agers say “you attract what you fear.” But this doesn’t prevent us from stopping at stop signs and teaching our kids to look both ways before they cross the street.
This week, we’re going to ask you to just THINK ABOUT IT ... What are your risks? For example, it’s not just Californians who need prepare for earthquakes. Most states could be affected by major earthquakes, and 39 states are considered moderate to high-risk seismic areas. The New Madrid fault zone, six times larger than California’s San Andreas fault zone, and the cause of the biggest earthquakes in U.S. history, is considered by some to be at high risk today and could threaten parts of seven central American states.
Here is little something to get you started …
WHO YA GONNA CALL? Click the link below to find resources and information in your area. We keep these contacts in our cell phone address book.

And STAY TUNED for future chats about …WHAT might happen where you live. WHEN you could expect to be notified. WHERE you would go in case of a disaster. And HOW you would need to react in any given situation. Every hazard has a unique set of actions we must take BEFORE, DURING & AFTER the event.
As David Allen teaches us, you can’t win a game you haven’t defined. And once you know what you would do in case of a natural disaster, a pandemic or even a house fire, you can relax knowing you are READY FOR ANYTHING.
